Waivolt is now a Registered NABCEP Training Provider

We are thrilled to announce that last week Waivolt received approval from NABCEP as an Accredited Training Provider, with our 0 to Solar Hero: Free 18-hour Advanced Solar PV and the NEC Training course listed in the NABCEP Course Catalog.

This free NABCEP Advanced PV Training is under development and will be released soon, sign up here for more information. 

Starting with PV Application, the participants will learn the applications and history of photovoltaics. In PV Sales and Finance, the participants will learn about the benefits and motivations for investing in PV technology. In Solar Design, participants will put together the basic elements and work through advanced PV design considerations. PV Installation will introduce the participants to the National Electric Code and key elements of a successful and long-lived installation. In PV Operations and Maintenance, participants will discover what it takes to keep a PV system operating effectively and efficiently.

The solar hero program was developed to make high quality solar training available to everyone. Courses in our 0 to Solar Hero program are available for $0.00, thats FREE for qualified Solar Hero Applicants. Training costs Waived (does not include NABCEP Exam fees). Applicants with a disadvantaged background, who are military veterans, or are currently unemployed instantly qualify. Even if you don't meet any of those qualifications, we encourage you to apply, if we like your story you can also qualify.

The North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners® (NABCEP®) is considered the gold standard in certification for solar professionals. NABCEP is a highly regarded and widely recognized national organization that certifies professionals in the renewable energy sector. It is governed by a volunteer board of directors chosen for their expertise and active participation in the renewable energy industry. NABCEP's mission is to create and manage high-quality credentialing and certification programs for practitioners by collaborating closely with professionals and key stakeholders in both the renewable energy and energy efficiency fields.

Advanced-level technical training like the courses offered by Waivolt are required for all NABCEP Board Certification Exams and Recertifications.

For NABCEP purposes, “advanced training” is defined as a course which provides instruction beyond “basic,” “fundamental,” or “introductory” installation principles and practices. Advanced courses are intended for professionals with decision-making roles in solar design, installation, operations and maintenance, project management, or commissioning.

Training Providers from educational institutions with third-party accreditation like Waivolt can provide advanced-level courses to meet the requirements for Applicants for NABCEP’s Board Certification Exams.

Only education credits earned from accredited institutions can be used to fulfill Exam Application requirements This means Waivolt courses registered with NABCEP automatically qualify to satisfy prerequisites for NABCEP exams and recertification requirements.

Waivolt has also been approved by contractor state licensing boards as an educational institution, with courses approved for CEU credits.
